Presented by Nevada County Democrats
138 New Mohawk Rd., Nevada City, CA 95959
First workshop in our series of Candidate Campaign Workshops on special topics. Cost is $35, snack provided.
Susan Rogers has a master’s degree in Speech Communications from UC Santa Barbara, and has taught speaking skills through UCSB, Santa Barbara City College, and Brooks Institute of Photography, and as a private workshop leader.
We will discuss the three key types of content that should be included in any persuasive presentation-- organizing your material, feeling more comfortable, and being perceived as credible will also be covered. This is valuable information for candidates and others who might act as a surrogate for a candidate, give public testimony, or just want to be more comfortable in front of a group. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to present a 3-minute speech. Materials on how to prepare it will be sent out ahead of time.
